PlayStation Vita release!

I bet you weren't expecting this.
It's been over a year since the original release of "Clarissa", so to commemorate the occasion I prepared this small surprise.
I know no one asked for this, and not a lot of people have a Vita anymore, let alone one that hasn't been collecting dust on a shelf for the past decade. I mostly did this to see if I could and to enjoy our game in a handheld format.
So, dust off your Vitas and give "Clarissa" a spin! Maybe try for different endings if you haven't already?
I don't know if PC saves are compatible with this version, but i don't see why they wouldn't work.
Alright, enough yapping.

INSTRUCTIONS

First and foremost, your PS Vita needs to be modded (/"jailbroken") to run homebrew software, such as this game.
The process is quite simple and you can find detailed instructions on how to do it here: https://vita.hacks.guide

If you already have a modded Vita, or have just modded it, follow the below steps.

  • Download the .vpk file from the "Clarissa" itch.io page to your PC,
  • In order to put your Vita in file transfer mode open Vita Shell on your device and press "Select",
  • Plug your Vita into the PC via the charging cable,
  • Open the Vita directory in your PC's file browser, and drag the .vpk file there,
  • Upon successful file transfer you can unplug your Vita,
  • Now using Vita Shell navigate to the .vpk file (should be in the ":uma0" directory),
  • Press the confirm button on the .vpk file and follow on-screen instructions to complete installation,
  • When the game finishes installing you will find it in your Vita's Live Area, ready to go!

NOTES

  • It's normal for itch.io games to trigger safety warnings during installation on pretty much every platform. If such warning appears you can disregard it and proceed with the installation. I swear I'm not trying to steal your info or anything.
  • Please be patient. The game may take one or two minutes to boot. I have no idea what causes this, probably some Vita fuckery I don't understand.
  • Some choice menus might be janky and not work properly with the d-pad, probably due to the way I programmed them. If you encounter such issues, simply use the touch screen.
  • THIS VERSION HAS NOT BEEN TESTED as extensively as the PC one. The port is built on the 1.3 version of "Clarissa" so any issues that may arise are probably Vita port specific. Please report any bugs to me and I'll do my best to adress them with an update in due time. Please note that further development of "Clarissa" is entirely off my list of priorities so it may take me a while to fix the port.

That's all folks! Thanks for reading and see you later.

Check out my other games, not much to see there but I've got some upcoming projects you might take interest in.
